Hair Reduction

Many people desire permanent hair reduction. Commonly used techniques such as depillatories and waxing can be irritating and do not successfully remove unwanted hair for long durations. Intense Pulsed Light therapy can result in up to an 80% reduction in the amount of hair and is safe throughout the body. Multiple treatment sessions are necessary to achieve a long term result.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. IPL treatments injure the hair deep within the base (the hair bulb). The hair does not immediately disappear, but will shed or fall out approximately 2 weeks after each treatment session.

  • It has to do with the complicated growth cycle of the human hair. All hairs alternate between a growing phase, a resting phase, and a dying phase. IPL treats only the hairs that are in the active growing phase, which represents only about 25% of all the hair at any given time. It does not have any effect on those hairs that are in the resting phase. Subsequent treatment sessions target those hairs exiting the resting phase and entering the growth phase. This is why multiple treatments at specific time intervals are important in achieving long lasting hair reduction.

  • No. The light energy is best attracted to dark colors. As a result, people with fair skin and dark hair can expect the best results. Very fine, blonde, or grey hair is generally unresponsive to IPL hair reduction.
