Lip Augmentation
Lip augmentation is among the most commonly performed procedure. Some people are born with thin lips and desire more fullness. Others complain that their lips have lost volume during the aging process. Several fillers are available for lip augmentation.
When done correctly, the results are natural appearing lips with a youthful fullness. Adding volume to the lip can also help reduce the fine lines that commonly develop around the mouth and lips, and improve the overall balance of your face.
"Non-Surgical" Facelift
At Madison Avenue Plastic Surgery, we recognize that there is a desire for a "non-surgical" approach to the aging face. This may be a good approach if you have early signs of facial aging but are not yet "ready" for a surgical facelift. It is also an attractive alternative for those who wish to avoid anything "surgical", or prefer a gradual, more subtle improvement.
After critical evaluation of your face and your specific signs of aging, we will develop a complete "non-surgical" approach that addresses your needs and desires. This treatment plan may include a combination of Botox, injectable fillers, volumizers, chemical peels, and our exclusive line of powerful medical grade skin care products (Clincal Edge Skin Care). We also utilize the latest in skin-tightening and resurfacing Laser technology that can offer improved appearance of your face with immediate results and no "downtime."
Dr. Schulman's technique for a "non-surgical" facelift was featured in the March/April, 2008 issue of Healthy Aging Magazine.
Acne Treatment
Acne is a condition very common is the adolescent poplulation. However, many people do not "outgrow" acne and acne can also first develop in adulthood. Common ways to treat acne include oral antibiotics, medicated cleansers, and prescription creams. Despite these accepted treatments, responses are variable and the acne may persist, even into adulthood.
At Madison Avenue Plastic Surgery, we utilize advanced treatment modalities that include medical microdermabrasion, superficial chemical peels, and light and Laser technologies. These treatments can result in significant improvement in active acne lesions as well as a reduction in future acne outbreaks or "flares." We also utilize the latest in Laser technology to help reduce the appearance of scars that persist long after the acne resolves.
An evaluation of your skin will enable us to formulate a treatment protocol designed to meet your needs. This treatment protocol has been successful in even the most severe cases of acne resistant to other therapies.
Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)
This technology combines the benefit of light with the power of heat. It is used to treat a variety of conditions and has become extremely popular as a "photo-facial", designed to reverse common signs of sun-damage such as brown spots and fine lines. IPL is also extremely effective in the treatment of acne, rosacea, and for hair reduction.
Dr. Skolnik and Dr. Schulman are active in the research and development of new IPL technologies and have developed treatment protocols to provide you with maximum benefits.
"Light Therapy" or LED Photo-biostimulation
This revolutionary approach to skin care utilizes different wavelengths of light to improve the appearance of fine lines and and wrinkles, and improve areas of uneven pigmentation of your skin. We direct specific wavelengths of light to stimulate the mitochondria, or "engines" of the skin cells, resulting in increased collagen production. Madison Avenue Plastic Surgery has done extensive research about the powerful effects of LED light therapy.
Chemical Peels
This is a powerful means of rejuvenating your skin and restoring the smooth soft skin of your youth. A variety of peels of different strengths are available which can be customized to your specific needs. There can be significant improvement in the quality, texture, and color of your skin. Also, chemical peels can help improve wrinkles, acne and acne scars. Both deep and superficial peels can be performed.
Laser
We offer laser treatment for hair removal, skin tightening, treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, elimination of dark spots and pigmented lesions, spider veins, and acne.
We are actively involved with Laser companies to evaulate new technology and mazimize existing technology. This allows us to offer our patients the most advanced technologies availble. Recent advancements in Laser technology has enabled us to offer complete "non-surgical" solutions for many of your needs. Now you can get the improvement you have been looking for without surgery.
Microdermabrasion
Medical microdermabrasion is more than just "polishing" your skin. Traditional microdermabrasion utilizes a combination of crystals to exfoliate the skin AND suction to improve the health and appearance of your skin. At Madison Avenue Plastic Surgery, we utilize the latest in "crystal-free" technology to offer all the benefits of microdermabrasion without the inconvenience of crystals.
Fillers for Lines and Wrinkles
The latest in injectable fillers can be used to soften facial lines and wrinkles, thereby dramatically reducing or eliminating the signs of aging and helping to contribute to an overall youthful appearance. Fillers can be used to enhance your facial features such as lips, chins, and cheeks.
There are a variety of products available, with some products best for specific conditions. Dr Skolnik and Dr. Schulman will be happy to discuss the options with you and recommend the product, or combination of products, which is best for your needs.
Chin Augmentation (enlargement) or "mentoplasty"
The shape and size of a person's chin is critical to the overall balance of his or her face. Procedures can be performed to increase or reduce it's projection or size. Most commonly, the size of the chin is increased utilizing a chin implant. Most implants are made of solid silicone but other materials are available. Chin augmentation is often combined with nasal surgery because of the critical relationship between the chin and the nose. Chin augmentation can also improve the appearance of a person's neck and jaw line.
